What do the designations CPP, CSSM, CPO mean

The CPP (Certified Protection Professional) is a credential awarded by ASIS International, the leading organization for security professionals. It recognizes individuals who have demonstrated extensive knowledge and expertise in security management, including areas such as risk management, physical security, crisis management, and threat assessment. The CPP certification is globally recognized and is considered a mark of professionalism in the security industry.

The CSSM (Certified Security Supervision and Management) credential awarded by the International Foundation of Protection Officers (IFPO), recognizes professionals who have demonstrated expertise in security management, specifically in supervisory and leadership roles, it covers topics such as managing security personnel, strategic planning and ensuring the overall security of people and property.

The CPO (Certified Protection Officer) certification, also awarded by the IFPO, signifies expertise in the fundamental aspects of security , such as physical protection, emergency response and surveillance.
